Through to Dragon's Eye

There have been many turns, many twists and certainly many a cross roads along the way. But there has been no distinguishable path for several miles. Maybe you should turn back, nothing has guided your way for hours; you can almost taste the thought, sweet and bitter.

It has always been said that the journey to the legendary little town of Poll is told to be gruelling, a challenge, they say, most back out of. It is better known as Dragon’s Eye, as the tales go. If others have made the journey, why should you back out now?

Many speak of the town’s reputation for adventure; located in the midst of a forest, it has been said to be the perfect location for forming bonds with dragons, and fabled to provide the perfect start for youngsters willing to learn the ways of dragons. Sure, dragons are plenty in these times, but real dragons – wild dragons – not so much.

You suddenly see a sign, jutting awkwardly across the forest trail catches your eye; beyond it lays a straight road ahead and faintly you can make out the distant outline of a large gate. Your heart hammers as you realise what this means, the legends flooding back.

Excitedly, you pick up the pace as you approach the sign.

As legend tells it, once you have lived in Poll, you will be able to see through a dragon’s eyes. It is rumoured that the skills are hard to come by, and that some have gone mad in the process – disappearing into the vast forest, never to be seen again.

The sign’s scrawled handwriting, barely readable although the message is all too clear:

Through to Poll DRAGON’S EYE

.... There's no turning back now.

Welcome to Dragon's Eye

About
Dragon's Eye is an open dragonrider rpg set in present time, with the exception that there is no such thing as guns, electricity, or even running water, and dragons are used in replacment for these things. Dragons are used by young humans for fighting, racing, working and even companionship; in these times no dragon stays wild for very long.

Please read the rules carefully before joining and while posting:

The Village of Poll (Dragon's Eye)
[ ]The Village Gates
This is the official entrance to the walled in village of Poll, it's as known by the locals. Travellers know it only as Dragon's Eye. Outside the walls lays thick forest, abundant with growth and creatures of dread to human, and inside a quaint [in comparison to larger towns and cities of different lands] village of paved streets, houses of stone and many a dragon tamer.

Located inside the village walls, the uptown section of Poll is a large place that holds the many shops that can be found in these areas; as well as the pubs.

[ ]The center
The center of the village is huge. Many celebrations are held here, and it is used for many things. Some races are held here, and, although traditionally it was a place of peace between people, it is used commonly for battles, as the paving on the ground is incredibly strong.

[ ]Black Water River
Don't let the name fool you, the water in this river is far from black, although it appears so every new moon, once a month. The large river is the villages main source of water, besides the wells outside the village walls. The river runs straight through the middle of the village, although it is on the outskirts of the village centre. The village walls have been set up to allow the river, and it's fish, free flow naturally through the town.

Outside The Village
[ ]Hunter's Forest
This is a typical dwelling for a dragon; large strong trees, thick fertile underbrush and lush foliage. The canopy created by the trees gives the forest a serene dark green glow, although blocks out most, if not all, sun. It is called Hunter's Forest as it is the villages source of food - similarly for dragons.

[ ]Dragon's Swamp
There's one in every forest; created by a sharp drop in the land, it slowly became swamp over many years of collecting waters. It is dank and not too pleasent smelling, but I suppose some don't mind the atmosphere.

This is Black Water River, only wider and with trees overhanging it instead of buildings and bridges. The water almosts seems fresher outside the walls.

[ ]Two Tip Mountain
This mountain is called so because from the distance of the village it looks as if two peaks are rising out of the ground. The reality is that there was once a large city there and it is now abandoned, appearing as a second peak.

This is the lake that feeds Black Water River. It is created by a large waterfall that comes from Two Tip Mountain, and is situated at the base of this mountain. It is largely populated by fish and dragons alike.

[ ]Scarred Forest
This was once a greatly significant part of the forest, burnt away by a large war between dragons and their fellow riders. It has never recovered, so is a large stretch of black soil and scorched tree trunks. Despite this dragons regulaly habitat here.

[ ]Silver Beach
This beach is quiet large; a perfect area for sleeping in the sun, a much enjoyed activity of most dragons. It has a long stretch of sparkiling white sand mounds, and beyond that a white foaming blue green sea marks the end of the land.
