Name: Wrethyr [pronounced RETH-eer]
Nickname: Reth, Rethy, Thyr, etc.
Age: 65 Human years, 6 1/2 dragon years (young adult).
Gender: Female
Species: Heraldic Dragon- two pairs of legs and wings
Appearance: Dappled sage green scales cover Wrethyr's head, back, and limbs, and her stomach is black leathery skin. She has seemingly black eyes, though flecks of light green can be seen when light hits her eyes. She is of a light build and medium size; 35 feet from nose to tail-tip. Her wingspan is 25 feet, and her wings are membranous and black. Two eight-inch black horns curve backwards from the back of her head, and she has four-inch spikes at each joint. Her front paws have semi-opposable thumbs, useful for holding or carrying objects for short distances.
Abilities: Wrethyr has enhanced senses, particularly hearing and smell. She can speak mind-to-mind with other creatures, though she is sometimes timid about doing so if she doesn't know them well. She can also mildly control the wind/air around her.
Personality: Wrethyr is insatiably inquisitive and will go to long lengths to satisfy her curiosity. Mischievous at times, she enjoys playing pranks and goofing off. She is mildly cautious of humans, as she hasn't had much contact with them, but is attracted to their mysteriousness. She prefers flying to any other from of transport, and abhors swimming, as she hates getting wet. She is also claustrophobic, and cannot endure being in closed spaces.
Wrethyr is guarded against strangers, but is intensely devoted to those who gain her loyalty and trust. She stays away from battles, as she is a poor fighter, and is more likely to run or submit without a fight than stand her ground. She is very verbal, and enjoys making and mimicking sounds. If she were caught and tamed, she could easily be taught to speak verbally. She is omnivorous, and could eat most human food, though she prefers raw meat.
Sample Post: Reth circled the clearing twice before she brought in her wings and dropped to the earth, backwinging to slow her momentum. She landed lightly, and folded her wings, being careful not to snag them on any branches. She made a satisfied clucking noise in the back of her throat and strode off into the forest. A pang of hunger rumbled in her stomach, setting her agenda for the next period of time.
Scanning the breeze, Reth picked up the scent of a herd of herbivores a few miles off. She changed the direction of the wind so she was downwind of the herd and stalked steadily towards it, being sure not to make too much noise. As she drew closer, she crouched close to the ground, and waited for the right opportunity to strike.
She heard the heartbeats; a cacophony of individual rhythms, and her mouth watered in anticipation. But experience told her to wait. Wait, wait, wait... THERE! A slight stumble of one of the deer signaled her chance. Reth lunged forward, scattering the herd, but she was focused on her prey. With a blow from one of her paws she sent the doe sprawling. Roaring, she descended upon it and ended its life swiftly. Lunch! She thought happily.
Note: Wrethyr could be tamed/bonded if she met the right human...
