I will add things to the rules on the occasion, so look out for updates that are posted on the suggestions/updates board.
General 1. Swearing will not be tolerated on the ooc boards 2. No name calling. It's just immature; it doesn't make you any more of a person. In fact it makes you less of a person. 3. Please keep Avatars and signature pictures to a reasonable size or it will be removed. 4. No spam on any of the boards [Stupid, Pointless, Annoying, Messages]. 5. Respect others wishes. If a player wants something to happen, and it's obvious, please play along [it's a game after all]. And, don't do something irrational, that a real wolf wouldn't do. 5. No godmoding, or powerplay. 6. No back seat role playing; saying another character that isn't yours is doing something that they said they didn't do.
Role Playing 1. Role Play in third person and use past tense. - eg. Glow walked over to the pond and drank
- Not: I walk over to the pond to drink - Or: Glow walks over to the pond and drinks
2. Use proper grammar while role playing; absolutely no chat speak. 3. At least three lines, no exception [this rule may change in time if members are seen just barely making the limit more often] 4. Make sure to separate ooc from ic. 5. Characters can be role played in two different places at the same time. 6. If you want to get opinions on how well you role play [or tips on how to make it better] you can post an example, even a link, of your role playing on the role playing board, in help. It must follow the basic role playing rules. 7. Though I don't agree with Private threads they will happen and it's allowed. If you do create a private thread please put a little note in ooc naming who is and/or is not permitted to join. - If there is no warning then don't get upset when someone unwanted joins. 8. If you do not wish to continue role playing in a thread, please post an ic post stating you've left, don't just stop posting. Besides being incredibly annoying for the other people role playing it's also confusing.
Battles 1. You can't dodge everything. That is extremely annoying, unfair and unrealistic. 2. If your opponent hurts you, you are hurt. That means outside of the battle as well. 3. If you plan a battle it takes place in the battle grounds. 4. You are allowed to kill your own character as long as another one of your character kills him/her [no suicide] 5. Again, I must stress: no godmoding or powerplay.
- Godmoding is making the other person do something, which normally applies to the entire sight (nod head, walk away, fall to the ground, etc). Kinda like back-seat RPing. - Powerplay, is when you make something very critical happen during a fight. (A cut across the throat, a deep gash, etc), minor cuts are fine, but, the other person should have a chance to get out of the way.
5. You need the permission of your opponent and an admin/gmod, to kill another character. You just can't kill anyone you like. 6. Alert a staff member to battles [even if your character is fighting the character of a staff, alert a different staff member] so they can judge the outcome. - They will be judged to the quality, realism and creativity of each post. - Any breaking of rules [godmoding, powerplaying] seen during the fight will result in a warning to the member and, depending on the extent, loosing the battle or cancellation of the battle. 7. You may fight for whatever reason you choose; but, if fighting with aid of another's character [ie. dragon], do keep in mind that it has it's own mind and may refuse to battle.
Racing 1. Races between dragons, and carers, can happen anywhere. 2. The person challenging the race must list the accepted race course ooc before it is started. - The opponent/s may negotiate the course with the challenger ic - Do not post the course occ until the opponent/s have accepted it - A list of all participants [dragons and carers] is to be included with the occ course - Post the ooc course details in the first post at the starting board of the race 3. A member of the staff needs to be alerted, through PM, of any races of significance [ie. Whoever wins and looses is important, as in to gain something ect] so they can be judged. 4. A race over around 3 or 4 boards is typically acceptable, but try not to make it over 7 boards [unless in races of significance and of many participants] as that can get tiresome. 5. At least 3 posts in each thread, per participant, over the course that has been accepted. - In races of significance members may choose minimum posts per participant [although must be agreed on by all involved] 6. Be sure to give all race posts the same names, but with different parts ie. Race part 1, Race part 2, or something similar 7. The race can be accepted well before it starts, as in to give participants time to prepare. 8. If a character is participating in a race you are not allowed to post elsewhere while still participating in the race. 9. Any character can be withdrawn at any time for any reason [within reason; for injury, lack of energy, lagging too far behind, ect]. - If a dragon withdraws their carers, if also part of the race, are also withdrawn, and vice versa 10. Undescriptive posts in races of significance will result in your position being degraded ie. 2nd to 4th, or 1st to last, ect. 11. It is required that dragon characters keep a track of races of significance won; be sure to have it in your signature - Please remember no power playing, as it is easy to do in some instances
Characters 1. You can be as creative as you want making your character; but keep in mind that humans can not have wings or furry ears or what not. 2. Characters are to follow the guideline given, and the number of lines that I've chosen as well. 3. When a human character has gained loyalty of a dragon [captured it and tamed it], ooc post on the union board the name of the dragon and which of your human characters gained it [or, if your dragon character has a human now, then vice versa] - Human characters are limited to two dragons each - Dragons can only have one human; their loyalty to the human depending on them - Dragons can be swapped between human characters as long as an admin is informed 4. You cannot breed two of your characters together 5. Absolutely no character it perfect. Do not make a perfect character, that is beautiful, a great fighter, never looses a fight, and is not flawed. No person or creature is really like this, everyone has a weakness [and don't make it a very rare weakness, that is impossible to expose]. 6. Please do not randomly pull weapons and items out of nowhere, create your charactre with them or post on in the village store and let us know what you've got - it is not to disadvantage you as it is not know to the other characters, just to prevent unfair dealings. 7. Again, please use the chracter form provided. - You're character will not be accepted if any of the above rules have been violated.
Breeding- Dragons - You can breed in any season. - Try to stick around the mating habits of your dragon's species [elemental wise, if your dragon has been based around an element] - You and your mate don't have to have the same human/ even have a human - You may choose wheather or not to have live whelp or lay eggs 1. No homosexual dragons, please. 2. Descriptive breeding is fine, but please give a warning in the title [like m+ or whatever you think is appropriate] 3. No graphic pictures. 4. Forced breeding is okay. 5. Don't post anything that obviously states you're looking for a mate, eg. 'I really need a mate', 'I'm looking for a male dragon', 'I need a mate' [Correct me if I'm wrong, but it can't get anymore obvious than that], etc. 6. You can't have offspring straight after mating - Must be pregnant for around 3 days at least, one week at most, any longer and your caracter will miscarriage - If you choose to lay eggs, they are to stay eggs for 2 days after being laid - Offspring are to stay around mother for one week - Until the week is up, offspring must be dependent on their mother - After the week is up you may put them up for adoption, but make sure to put the off-spring on the mothers and fathers signature - You are not allowed to find off-spring or create a character that is pregnant - Mother role plays pups, unless nogotiated otherwise.
Accounts are limited to five characters unless you know you can handle it. This means you know you're going to role play them and not forget they exist; as well as how much you can fit into your signature. If you can't handle more than five characters make another account for them.
Inactive Members - Inactive members will be deleted, unless they tell me they're going away for a while. - If you sign up and don't post anything, you will be deleted after about five days unless I'm feeling lazy, which tends to happen a lot.
Mods and Admins I have chosen these people to help me to keep everyone else under control, so that means you must listen to them and respect their warnings, don't talk back. They're not doing it to be annoying or for fun, they have read over the rules and are helping me enforce them.
If I hear or read any particular disrespect from other players towards the mods, or me, then you will be suspended. Anything further and I will ban you.
Remember that not following these rules will result in appropriate punishment. Any questions or problems? Contact a staff member or post on the help board. If you can't follow the rules, don't join.
